There are times when medication can be an important part of treatment. In the state of New Jersey, only psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and physicians are licensed to prescribe medication. When needed, our therapists will refer patients to either our on-site consulting psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner, or we will be happy to provide you with recommendations for other psychiatrists for medication management.
